Besides a free flight, the Lakers vs Thunder game was my primary reason for coming to Oklahoma, and with the exception of quickly falling behind by 17 points, this game more than lived up to my hopes and expectations. The Lakers lead for most of the game before the Thunder came roaring back and tied the game at the end of regulation with three Russell Westbrook free throws, sending it into overtime, which was dominated by the Lonzo Ball/Kyle Kuzma lead Lakers.
I'm now only two road games (Dallas/San Antonio) away from seeing the Lakers play in every western arena.

When the Alfred P. Murrah Federal Building was bombed on April 19th, 1995, a foreign, dark skinned Middle Eastern man was initially the suspect authorities were looking for, but it was actually two homegrown white males who had murdered 168 people, including 19 children, in what is still the deadliest domestic act of terrorism in the United States. .
The Murrah building no longer stands, but in its place is the Oklahoma City National Memorial and Museum, a beautifully constructed, heart wrenching and gut punching reminder of the tragedy. Where the Murrah building once stood is the Field of Empty Chairs, a tribute to all who unjustly lost their lives that day.
One month after I visited One World Trade Center, and a day after visiting the grassy knoll and John F. Kennedy assassination location in Dallas, OKC was a stark, emotionally charged reminder of just how depraved, soulless and cowardly hatred is, but also how utterly fragile our grasp on life can be.
